Tibet Overland Tour

Day 01: Drive to Zhangmu (2,500 m) and Nyalam (3,700 m)
On the 1st day of Tibet Overland Tour, you will leave Kathmandu early in the morning and drive to Kodari, the Nepal border post with China. Then you will head to Zhangmu where you will fulfill Chinese Immigration procedure. Then you will continue the journey through a beautiful gorge to Nyalam crossing Himalayan Range.

Day 02: Drive to Xegar (4,050 m)
You will ascend to the highest plateau across Lalung La (5,050 m) from where you can enjoy the breathtaking panorama of beautiful Himalayan Mountains Cho Oyu (8,201 m) and Mt. Xishapagma (8012 m). Later you will move forward to Xegar where you will stay overnight.

Day 03: Travel to Shigatse (3,900 m)
You will follow the trail up to the High Pass Gyatchu La (5,220 m) which is the highest pass while en route to Lhasa via Lhatse. After crossing the high pass, you will reach to the site where Mount Kailash bifurcates to the west. A little further lies Shigatse where you will stay overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Move to Gyantse (3950m)
Early in the morning of the fourth day, you will visit the Tashilumpo monastery and return back to Shigatse. Later, after lunch, you will embark on a pleasant drive of 2 hours to arrive to Gyantse. You will stay overnight in a hotel at Gyantse.

Day 05: Visit Lhasa (3650m)
A day-long drive from Gyantse through High Passes Karo-La (5010m) and Kamba La pass (4794m) will take you to Lhasa. On the way, you will have a view of Lake Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake) and you will cross the Brahma Putra River (Yarlung Tsangpo) from where you can see the distant views of the Potala Palace. You will stay overnight in a hotel at Lhasa.

Day 06: Lhasa Tour
This day, you will explore the sites in Lhasa. You will visit Monastery of Shera, Norbulinga Palace- the summer house of Dalai Lama and Jokhang Temple- a spiritual centre of Tibetan Village. You will then follow the pilgrimage circuit around the ancient streets of the old city near the Barkhor market and return to hotel.

Day 07: Another day of sightseeing in Lhasa
Early in the morning of third day, you will explore the Potala Palace and Drepung Monastery. The 17th century Potala Palace offers a breathtaking view across the city and also has private rooms of the Dalai Lama, many large state rooms and chapels. Later, you will visit Drepung -one of the largest monasteries in Tibet.

Day 08: Final departure from Lhasa
Early in the morning, you will drive from hotel to airport which takes about 2hrs to cover the journey. At airport, you will take a flight either to Kathmandu or to your next destination.
