Manaslu Trekking

Manaslu Trekking is a 20-day long package which offers a combination of a rich cultural heritage, unsurpassed beauty and biological diversity. Manaslu Circuit is considered one of the most challenging treks in Nepal which gives best alpine expedition experience.
The trail for Manaslu Trekking follows the Budi Gandaki River which in turn leads to the snow bound Larkya La pass (5213m). A gentle descent from Larkya La Pass takes us through Alpine and then tropical areas which is covered with ferns, bamboo trees, pine trees, waterfalls and lakes.
Manaslu Trekking exists in less visited and restricted area of the government of Nepal. This trek will lead you through the scenic highway driving from Kathmandu to Dhading. From Dhading, you will officially begin the trek by taking a stroll to Arughat.
Walking between the borders of Nepal and Tibet, exploring the ancient monasteries, passing through the ethnic communities of Brahman, Chhetri and Magar and getting to know their culture and livelihood, exploring the sites with diverse flora and fauna, making it up to Samdo Peak (500 m), crossing Larkya La Pass (5213m) which is one of the most dramatic of any step in the Himalayas give you the glimpse of the things you will get to do while joining in Manaslu Trekking.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
After your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be taken to your hotel by our representatives. You will get a briefing about your travel itinerary afterwards which you can rest for the day.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
On the second day, you will be driven for sightseeing inside Kathmandu Valley which covers temples like Pashupatinath, Boudhanath and Swayambhunath and Durbar Squares. You will also visit an ancient city of Patan from where you will ride back to our hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Dhading and trek to Arughat
We will leave from Kathmandu at 7:00 AM in the morning. We will have a comfortable ride for about 4hrs till we reach Dhading Besi as the road is smooth. From Dhading, we will follow the dirt road for another 3hrs to finally reach to Arughat, Gorkha- the initial point of Manaslu Circuit Trek. You will stay overnight in hotel at Arughat Bazaar located near to BudiGandaki River.

Day 04: Trek to Sati Khola
This day, you will follow the track through Sante Khola Bazar and Budhi Gandaki valley and reaches the Koiraa pani -a small ethnic village of Magar and Gurung. We will then lower down to Sati Khola. Sati Khola lies in a valley which is famous for honey. We will stay overnight in a camp at the bank of Sati Khola.

Day 05: Trek to Labu Besi
After crossing the bridge, we will climb a hill which is located above the Budhi Gandaki River and reach Khorsaani. We will then tread through rough terrain and pass through series of ups and downs to head back again to the bank of Budhi Gandaki. We will then clamber up the steep hill and pursue the rocky path to the Gurung village of Labu Besi where we will rest overnight.

Day 06: Trek to Doban
Today’s walk will lead us to Machha Khola after crossing several streams on the way. From Machha Khola, we will follow the route all the way to Doban Khola after passing through Khorlavesi and Tatopani. We will stay overnight in Doban in a camp.

Day 07: Trek to Jagat
The route for the day climbs a rocky path all the way to Duman. It then passes through the towns of Yaru Khola before crossing Thado Bharyang to once again meet Budhi Gandaki. You will walk along the river for a while to get to the village of Jagar. We will stay overnight in a hotel at Jagar.

Day 08: Trek to Ngyak Beshi
The trail for the day begins along the banks of the river of Ghata Khola. We will cross to the eastern shore of River before climbing upto Philim from where you can have a view of Lapuchun Mountain (5,950 m). Philim is one of the few large settlements on this route and also home to the office of the Project Area Conservation Manaslu. A little further from Philim is located Ngyak Besi where we will pitch our camp for the night.

Day 09: Trek to Ghap
On the 9th day, you will pass through a heavily forested area in a narrow valley to the little colony of Dang. You will then cross the Budhi Gandaki River and arrive to a valley before climbing up the hill to Rana. From Rana, you will tread over the river and enjoying the scenic view of the Manaslu mountain, you will descend to Ghap where you will stay overnight at the camp.

Day 10: Trek to Namrung
Today we will waklk through a valley with dense wood and then climb up for about 50 minutes to finally arrive to Namrung. The campsites here are managed by the Project Area Manaslu Conservation. We will stay in camp at Namrung.

Day 11: Trek to Samagaon
The trail for this day continues through forests before crossing the villages along the Buddhist path. We will see many monasteries and Mani walls chortens on the way before reaching to Samagaon-a village with more than 150 houses. We will stay overnight in Samagaon.

Day 12: Rest Day at Samagaon
12th day is a rest day. Make your body at ease and prepare for the journeys about to begin onwards. If you intend, you can visit shortly to Pungen Gompa.
Day 13: Trek to Samdo
On this day, you will tread along the river before ascending to Samdo. Samdo is the site of a Tibetan refugee camp where you can have a rare glimpse of the lifestyle of the Tibetan people. Samdo lies on the way to the old route of the salt trade with Tibet. This route is still being used by people of Refugee camp. We will stay overnight at Samdo.


Day 14: Trek to Dharmashala
Early in the morning, we will follow the path through plain till we reach to Larke Khola. From Larke Khola, we will ascend up the hill to Dharmashala. We will stay overnight in Dharmashala.

Day 15: Trek to Bimtang
The journey on this way will lead us further up the hill to the High Pass known as Larkya Pass (5213 m). After taking a brief moment to acknowledge the scenic beauty of mountains, we will head towards the land of glacial moraine and boulders which eventually take us to Bimtang where we will stay overnight at the camp.

Day 16: Trek to Tilje
Today we will chase the track down the hill and pass through rhododendron and pine forests to finally arrive to apple orchards in Tilje. We can have a spell binding view of the north face of Manaslu Mountain from Tilje. We will pitch our camp in the apple orchards of Tilje.

Day 17: Trek to Tilje Tal
Today’s walk will take us along the Dudh Khola- a tributary of the Marsyangdi River to reach confluence in Dharapani. This is the place where the route of Annapurna circuit meets with the Manaslu circuit. We will later move to Tilje Tal where the river appears as a lake. We will camp next to a waterfall.

Day 18: Trek to Syange
Early in the morning on the 18th day, we will lower down to come to the foothills of the Himalayas. We will pass through terraced fields to arrive to Syange- a Hindu village belonging to Gurung community. We will stay overnight in a camp in Syange.

Day 19: Trek to Khudi
From Syange, we will follow the dirt road to Bulbule and pass through Ngadi. We will follow
a rough rock staircase down to Puwa Khola and then join the road to Khudi- a Gurung village. We will stay overnight in camp at Khudi.

Day 20: Drive back to Kathmandu
This day marks the end of Manaslu Trek. We will drive back to Kathmandu which is located 71miles (114km) far from Khudi.

Day 21: Departure from Kathmandu
On the last day of the itinerary, you will be transferred to the International Airport in Kathmandu from where you will catch a flight to your home country.
