Makalu Sherpani col with Meera Peak Climbing is an adventurous trekking and peak climbing itinerary in the exciting Everest region of Eastern Nepal. It is a combination of Makalu Sherpanicol and Meera Peak Climbing and hence is a wonderful blend of Makalu trekking and Meera Peak Climbing itinerary. You will simultaneously discover the thrill and adventure of peak climbing and trekking in Nepal. Makalu Sherpanicol trekking itinerary normally starts from Tumlingtar, a town located in the East of Nepal, where you can reach by regular flights from Kathmandu. And the Meera Peak Climbing kicks from the Capital city with a mountain flight to Lukla. The combination itinerary of Makalu Sherpanicol with Meera Peak Climbing also starts with a flight to Lukla.
During the course of the trek, you will also come across the Makalu Base Camp. After which, you will also cross the 2 difficult passes in the region which are Sherpani col Pass (6,110 m) and West Col (6,135 m). Meera Peak, situated in the Everest Region, is around 6,476 meters tall. Meera Peak is one of the most interesting Peak Climbing destinations in Nepal. It mainly contains three main summits: Meera North (6,476 metres), Meera Central (6,461 metres) and Meera South (6,065 metres).

Day 01–Arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by our team members and representatives and then be transferred to the Hotel where you will be briefed in short about the travel itinerary. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 02- Flight to Lukla, trek to Phakding
On the second morning, you will take a flight from Kathmandu to the Lukla Airport, alternately also known as the Tenzing-Hillary Airport. The 30 minutes of mountain flight to Lukla will be refreshing as you will fly above the mountains and finally land at the Lukla Airport. Also, Lukla Airport is considered as one of the most dangerous airports in the world. After landing at Lukla, you will take light breakfast and start your trek. In around 3 hours, you will reach Phakding village where you will be staying overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 03: Trek to Thaksingdingma (3,500m)
On the third morning, you will have breakfast at the guesthouse and start on your journey through jungle and forest trail. It is a little bit strange that there is no human settlement on the way of the trail to Thaksingdingma. You will reach your destination to Thaksingdingma (3,500m) for Camping. Overnight stay at a tented camp.

Day 04: Trek to Thagnak
Trekking to Thagnak on the fourth day is not an easy trek as you have to prepare for walking all day throughout the side of the mountain and the trail that leads to Thagnak is a bit narrow. The areas of the tropical forest on the trail turn out to be thinner as you climb close to the snow line. Overnight stay at a tented camp at Thagnak.

Day 05: Rest day in Thagnak
The next day you will spend at Thagnak, resting and acclimatizing to the conditions. Acclimatization is very important during high altitude climbing like in Nepal and you need to take enough rest before starting your journey the next day. You can stroll around the village in Thagnak and explore the local villages. Thagnak is also the base for climbing East and North-East side of Kushum Kanguru. Overnight stay at a tented camp

Day 06: Trek to Khahare (5,099m)
You will travel across the lateral moraine of Dig Glacier to Dig Khraka which provides the stunning views of glaciers and afterward you will climb more abrupt trail to Khahare (5,099m). Overnight stay at a guest house.

Day 07: Trek to Makalu Base Camp
On the seventh day of the itinerary, you will make your way towards Makalu Base Camp from Khahare. There is no straightforward trail for reaching the Base Camp from Khahare and you will have to endure a long day of trekking and hiking through multiple trails before reaching the Base Camp. After reaching the Base Camp, you will set up a temporary camp and stay overnight there.

Day 08: Cross Sherpani Col Pass
The next day, you will set off on your journey from the Base Camp and cross the Sherpani Col which is one of the difficult passes in the region. Sherpani Col Pass is above 6000 meters of altitude and your physical stamina and strength will be tested while crossing the Pass. The Pass is beautiful and you will be blessed with some great views of the mountains during the course of the days trek. Overnight stay at a tented camp.

Day 09: Trek to Meera Base Camp (5300m)
Before reaching the Meera Base Camp (5300m), you will have to down climb from the Sherpani Col Pass for about three to four hours. Then, you will reach your destination at Mera-La (5415m). Usually, the Pass and the Base Camp is full with snow from November to April. You will again have some great views of the mountains from the Meera Base Camp. You will move down about 100m on the way to the Hogu Side and prepare for the Base Camp (5300), below the ice.

Day 10: Acclimatization at the Base Camp
This day will be the day for your acclimatization as you will rest and acclimatize to the changing conditions. Acclimatization is very important during high altitude trekking in Nepal and you will have to make sure you do not get high altitude sickness during the course of your trekking. You can further explore around or climb up for a few hours and again you have to come back to the Base Camp for the night. Overnight stay at a tented camp.

Day 11: Trek to High Camp
After completing a day of rest and acclimatization, the next day you will be trekking to the High Camp. After about four hours of trek, you will reach the High Camp. Overnight stay at tented camp.

Day 12: Trek to Summit
We start our trek early the next and reach the summit after a few hours of trek. The views of mountains like Pumori (7161m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m), Lobuche (6145m) and Mount Cho Oyu ( 8201m) are seen from the top. These are some of the most fantastic view that you can see from the summit. Again after the trek you will go back over to Base Camp.

Day 13: 18 Trek to Meera Peak Base Camp- Lukla
Between the 13th to 18th days of the itinerary, you will spend your time in ascending the Meera Peak. You will gradually ascend along with other team members and professional trekking guides who will help you during the course of your peak climbing. In between the days, you will spend the night at tented camps. After ascending the peak and exploring the top, you will again return from the Meera Peak to the Base Camp. The beauty and amazing views that you will get to see from the Meera Peak is marvelous and you will remember it throughout your entire life. You will then first return back to the Base Camp and then make your way towards Lukla, down climbing from the Base camp. On the 18th day of the itinerary, you will be back to Lukla. Overnight stay at a guest house.

Day 19– Fly back to Kathmandu
On the 19th day of the tour package, you will catch a flight back to Kathmandu enjoying the 30-minutes of mountain flight. The rest of the time in Kathmandu, you will be shopping and buying souvenirs to your loved ones. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 20: Departure from TIA, “Farewell!"
On the last day of the itinerary tour package, you will be transferred to the International Airport in Kathmandu from where you will take a flight back to your home country.
