Langtang Gosainkunda Trekking

Langtang Gosainkunda Trekking is also known as Langtang Gosainkunda trek, Langtang trek Gosainkunda and cultural tour Langtang. Langtang Gosainkunda Trekking is a 16-day long package which takes you to the wonderful region of Langtang and Gosainkunda.
Langtang Gosainkunda Trekking initiates from the beautiful hill town of Syabrubesi and heads to Langtang Valley before winding through exotic rhododendron and conifer forest in Langtang National Park which eventually leads you to Gosainkunda Lake after passing through alpine pasture land, high passes, glaciers and moraines. Next, the track descends through Laure Binayak Pass (4610m) to Ghopte and further to Chisapani. A walk from Chisapani will take you to Sundarijal which is the supplier of drinking water for Kathmandu Valley. The trekking concludes at Sundarijal from where we will drive back to hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
You will find our representatives there at the Tribhuvan International Airport, ready to greet you when you land in at the International Airport of Kathmandu. They will receive you with your name and take you to the hotel where you will be briefly explained about the itinerary package.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
On the second day, you will be taken out for an excursion to some of the chief sites in and around Kathmandu. Visits include temples of Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath and Bauddhanath and Durbar squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur.

Day 03: Drive to Syabru Besi (1600m)
Syabru Besi is the initial starting point for Langtang trekking. It takes about 8 to 9 hours of drive from Kathmandu to reach Syabru Besi along the Prithvi Highway covering the distance of 117km. The way offers scenic views of mountain and rice terrains. Plenty of shops and lodges crowd the Syabru Besi Bazaar, which is a hub for Langtang trekking.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel
The trail departs from main road and descends to a camping area below the town from the track opposite to the Hotel Village View. We will then cross the suspension bridge over Bhote Koshi and climb until Thulo Syabru. Later, after arriving in bridge over Langtang Khola, we will climb further up to set of six lodges at Changtang which is known by the name of Lama Hotel (2480m). We will spend the night at Lama Hotel.

Day 05: Trek to Langtang village (3430m)
From Lama Hotel, we will take a short climb to reach the point of origin of Langtang Valley. We can enjoy the scenic beauty of Lirung from the valley. The track passes through forest to reach the pasture land where yak and the wild goats can be seen grazing. We will stay in a camp at Langtang overnight.

Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3870m)
Today’s journey starts from Langtang Valley. We will then ascend uphill to pass through Sindum and Yamphu(3640m). Later we will cross Laja Khola and reach to a viewpoint from where Kyanjin Gompa and icefall from Lirung and Kinshung can be viewed. Ultimately we will lower down to Kyanjin Gompa and enjoy the amazing monastery located at Kyanjin. Overnight stay at a guesthouse in Kyanjin.

Day 07: Rest day in Kyanjin Gompa
We will take rest from strenuous journey and ease our aching muscles on the 7th day at Kyanjin itself. If you like, you can explore around the glacier or take a short trek to the Himalayan Yak pastures. Kyanjin Gompa offers a close- up view of Langtang Lirung, Genjempol and Kenga Himal ranges. Cheese factory, Buddhist monastery and Tsergo Ri (5033m) are other sites worthy visiting.

Day 08: Trek to Dalai Hotel
Early in the morning, we will begin our travel back. We will pursue the route to Langtang Khola and cross the suspension bridge to visit Langtang village. After a brief rest, we will enter Ghora Tabela. Later we will descend to Dalai Hotel where we will stay overnight.

Day 09: Trek to Thulo Syabru
We will pass through different Sherpa and Tamang villages and green hills and then lower down to Syabru Besi (1600m). From Syabru Besi, we will follow the track to Thulo Syabru. From here, we will have 2 alternatives to make it to the holy lake of Gosainkunda. We will head for Sing Gompa which is normal and popular route.

Day10: Trek to Sing Gompa
The journey on10th day passes through Dursagang to a viewpoint. We will then transcend through oak, fir and hemlock forests to arrive to Sing Gompa- a Buddhist monastery. If time permits, we will sidewalk around Gompa to visit Yak cheese Factory where local cheeses are manufactured.

Day 11: Trek to Gosainkunda Lake
Today we will follow the steep trail until Lauri Binayak. From there we will pursue the much narrow & misty track. We will notice the change in terrain from green pasture field to much deserted & rocky area. From Lauri Binayak, it takes about 3 hours of walking to reach Gosainkunda. Gosainkunda is a holy and sacred lake in Nepal popular among the Hindu pilgrims and is one of the major pilgrimage destinations.

Day 12: Trek to Ghopte (3480m)
The trail for this day follows a steep descent for 2 & half an hour and crosses a pass at 4500m from where it hits the rocky terrain. From here, we will descend further down the slope for about 3 hours to reach Ghopte where we will stay overnight.

Day 13: Track to Kutumsang
We will pass through the pine and juniper forest and then climb up through the slope for about 2 hours to arrive at Tharepati. We will descend the slope for rest of our journey to finally arrive at Kutumsang where we will rest for day. Sufficient hotels, lodges and temporary tea-house are available on the route.

Day 14: Trek to Chisapani
It is 6hrs walk from Kutumsang to Chisapani. The trail passes through Patibhanjyang and other Tamang villages to reach to Chisapani where we will stay overnight.

Day 15: Back to Kathmandu
Early in the morning, we will trek for about 4hrs passing through rhododendron forest to reach to Sundarijal from Chisapani and then drive down 15km long road to make it to Kathmandu.

Day 16: Final departure from Kathmandu
It’s the day to say goodbye. Our representative will assist you in last moment preparation and will drive you back to Airport from where you will return to your beloved ones. We hope to see you again. Farewell!!!
