Helambu Trek Gosainkunda Lake is a 11- day long trekking package that lets you explore the natural and cultural wonders of Nepal.
Helambu Trek Gosainkunda Lake initiates from north of Kathmandu Valley where Gosainkunda Lake exists nestled at the foot of Ganesh Himal Range and Langtang Himal Range and passes through several villages before ending in Melamchi.
While enrolling in Helambu Trek Gosainkunda Lake, we will get the rare opportunity to spot red pandas dwelling in rhododendron forests and blue sheep grazing in alpine meadows. We can explore the glaciated valley while we can enjoy the panoramic views of mountains. At Gosainkunda, we can see more than 5 lakes which are located over 4200m altitude. At Helambu, we pass through several villages chiefly dominated by Tamang and Sherpas. Thus, we can get insight into cultural aspect of these highlanders while we can have a peek into lifestyle of these locals.
Hence we can easily say Helambu Trek Gosainkunda Lake is the perfect combination of cultural expedition and natural adventure.
Helambu Trek Gosainkunda Lake is a moderately strenuous trek which takes us to altitude as high as 3500m above sea level. So, there is possibility that you might suffer from high altitude sickness. Children and aged people are advised not to join this trek and though not mandatory, it would be better if you have some kind of prior experience in trekking.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
You will find our representatives there at the Tribhuvan International Airport, ready to greet you when you land in at the International Airport of Kathmandu. They will receive you with your name and take you to the hotel where you will be briefly explained about the itinerary package.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
On the second day, you will be taken out for an excursion to some of the chief sites in and around Kathmandu. Visits include temples of Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath and Bauddhanath and Durbar squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur.

Day 03: Drive to Dhunche (7hrs)
Early in the morning, we will head to Dhunche from Kathmandu which takes about 7 hours driving to cover 119 km journey. The road offers scenic views of mountains and waterfalls. We will stay overnight in a hotel at Dhunche, the headquarters of Rasuwa.

Day 04: Trek to Sing Gompa (5hrs)
Today we will follow the trail upward the hill and pass through mineral water factory to Ghatte Khola. After we cross the suspension bridge over Ghatte Khola, we will ascend further through pine, oak and rhododendron forests to finally make it to Sing Gompa where we will stay overnight.

Day 05: Trek to Gosainkunda Lake via Lauribinayak (6hrs)
Today we will follow the steep trail until Lauri Binayak. From there we will pursue the much narrow & misty track. We will notice the change in terrain from green pasture field to much deserted & rocky area. From Lauri Binayak, it takes about 3 hours of walking to reach Gosainkunda, the famous and popular pilgrimage destination for Hindu followers. Besides its religious significance, Gosainkunda Lake is immensely beautiful and is crowded by tourists and pilgrims every year.

Day 06: Trek to Ghopte
The trail for this day follows a steep descent for 2 and half hours and crosses a pass at 4500m from where it hits the rocky terrain. From here, we will descend further down the slope for about 3 hours to reach Ghopte where we will stay overnight.

Day 07: Trek to Tharepati
Early in the morning, we will pass through the pine and juniper forests to hit the slope. We will climb up through the slope for about 2 hours to finally make it to Tharepati where we will stay overnight.

Day 08: Trek to Melamchi
This day we will lower down through a steep mixed forest of spruce and rhododendron which is rich in birdlife to finally arrive to Melamchi. We can hear the roaring of Melamchi Khola which is located below Melamchi Gaon. We will stay here overnight.

Day 09: Trek to Tarkegyang
The trail for this day descends steeply to the valley floor before hitting Melamchi Khola where we can take a well deserved swim in the crystal clear river before completing the short and smooth ascent to Tarkegyang which is located to the other side of the valley. A 18th century Gompa with huge prayer wheel of brass exists in Tarkegyang.

Day 10: Trek to Sermathang
Today we will walk mostly through plain land to reach Sermathang- a Sherpa village. Sermathang offers splendid views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Rolwaling, Gosainkunda and Everest on a clear day.

Day 11: Trek to Melamchi, Drive to Kathmandu
We will follow the trail back to Melamchi from where we will drive back to Kathmandu. Melamchi is located around 59 km far from the capital city of Kathmandu and it takes around two hours of driving to make it back to Kathmandu. We will return to our hotel and take rest for the rest of the night.

Day 12: Departure from Kathmandu
On the last day of the itinerary, you will return back to your country by boarding a flight from the International Airport in Kathmandu. You will be dropped until the Airport by our representatives. We hope to see you again and have safe journey!!!
