Annapurna Sanctuary Trek

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is also known as Annapurna sanctuary trekking and Annapurna Base Camp Trek. Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a 13days long trekking that takes you on the spectacular journey to the south face of Annapurna Mountain. The Modi Khola Gorge is the only way into the sanctuary.

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek pursues the trail through multiethnic settlements and thickets where wide varieties of wild life sustain. Travelling along the bank of roaring Modi Khola, visiting Annapurna Sanctuary which is a valley nestled between majestic mountain peaks, watching sunrise over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Ranges, ascending to Chhomrong Pass, mind boggling views of peaks of Annapurna-III and Annapurna-IV we obtain at Machhapucchre Base Camp, amazing view of sunrise at Annapurna-I and passing through dense woods of rhododendron while on the way to Jhinu Danda are some wonderful experiences that tempts us to join Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. Also, the highest point on this trek is quiet lower in comparison to other major mountain trekking in Nepal.

Anybody with good health and normal physical fitness can enroll for Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. Caution should be taken to follow all the rules of acclimatizing with environment while engaging in this trek so that you need not suffer from High Altitude Sickness.

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival:
You will find our representative there in airport, ready to greet you when you land in International Airport of Kathmandu. He will receive you with your name and take you to our hotel where you will be briefly explained about the itinerary package.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu:
On the second day, you will be taken out for an excursion to some of the chief sites in and around Kathmandu. Visits include temples of Pashupatinath, Swayamvunath and Bauddhanath and Durbar squares of Kathmandu and Patan.

Day 03: Fly or drive to Pokhara:
It takes 25minutes of flight through glorious peaks of Manaslu to take us to Pokhara. Alternatively we can take a bus and follow Prithvi Highway for 6-7 hrs to reach Pokhara. We will spend our night in a hotel at Pokhara. If you feel like exploring, we can take a boat ride on Phewa Lake.

Day 04: Trek to Ghandruk:
It takes about an hour of bus ride to reach Nayapul. From Nayapul, we will begin our trek for Ghandruk. We will pass through terraced fields beneath the splendid panorama of the mighty glaciers of the Himalaya ranges to reach a suspension bridge over Khumnu Khola. Later we will reach the pretty village of Ghandruk after walking for 3 to 4 hours. Ghandruk offers breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Annapurna III, and Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhare Himal.

Day 05: Trek to Chhomrong:
Today’s journey will take us through plain lands, terraces, streams and green landscape to reach to Kimrung Khola. From this point, we will climb up through rhododendron forests and pleasant terraces to reach to Chhomrong (2040m). We can have splendid view of Annapurna south and fishtail mountains from Chhomrong.

Day 06: Trek to Dovan:
On the 6th day, we will walk through the forest of Kuldighar. The track ends abruptly through deep bamboo and rhododendron forest to the village of Dovan(2540m). We will stay overnight at guesthouse in Dovan.

Day 07: Trek to Machhapuchhare Base Camp:
A journey along the narrow valley of Modi Khola takes us to the Machhapuchhre Base Camp(3700m). It takes about 2 hours of walk to reach Annapurna Base Camp. We will spend our night in a camp at Machhapuchhare Base Camp.

Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m):
After breakfast, we will walk for about two hours enjoying the scenic beauty of Grand Mountains to finally reach Annapurna base camp. This area is called Annapurna Sanctuary from where we can experience breathtaking 360 degree views.

Day 09: Trek to Bamboo:
Our destination for the day is Bamboo (2340 m). We will descend through Deurali and Dovan to finally reach to Bamboo. On the way, we will see waterfalls that drop down from a high point to the rocks below. We will finally reach bamboo after passing through forest where we will spend night.

Day 10: Trek to Jhinu Danda:
From Bamboo, we will trek back to Sinuwa and lower down to Chhomrong. We will ascend the thousand stony steps to reach Upper Chhomrong from where we will take a different route to Jhinu Danda. We will rejoice in hot springs before spending night at Jhinu Danda.

Day 11: Trek to Pothana:
After breakfast the next morning, we will pursue the trail through Landruk- a beautiful Gurung village. From Landruk, the trail emerges into the main valley and reaches Modi Khola. After that we will continue to Pothana(1990m). We will stay overnight in the guesthouse at Pothana.

Day 12: Trek to Pokhara:
Today we will walk along a paved path through rhododendron forests that reach Dhampus (1750m). This village is inhabited by a mixture of people from different cultures of Nepal, Gurung, Brahman, and Magar communities. After a rest here we will walk mostly downhill through the forest and fields in the Phedi. 30 minutes drive from Phedi will take us to Pokhara where we will stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 13: Drive or take a flight to Kathmandu:
A 25 minute flight through Manaslu Mountain will take us to Kathmandu. Alternatively, we can take a bus ride for about 6 to 7 hours to reach Kathmandu. We will have our evening dinner in our hotel at Kathmandu.
